Hi Guys,
Just wondering if anyone can help out, I seemed to have gotten myself into a bit of trouble.
When users try to send emails they receive a message that there isn't enough disk space to send the email.
Some background:
I then remoted into the Web Server and noticed that the disk space was full on the C:\. I then thought to remove some mail database of ex staff members do increase the disk space. Before deleting the databases, I deleted the user (using the correct 'delete' process), however it didn't delete the mail databases, even though I had checked the tick box to remove the mail databases and all replicas for all ex staff members. After deleting the mail databases from the C:\ using the Admin Client, I assumed that everything was fine, as the disk space had now increased.
Every night all users receive spam filter email from Postini.com (an online spam filter service) advising them of there emails that had been filtered. This is sent to a particular group, which then sends it to the members within the group.
The ex-staff members had been removed from the group (and placed in the terminated group). However, they where not removed from the postini account (on line spam filter service).
The nightly spam filter Quarantine Summary had sent an email to some of the ex-staff members. However, the message in the email read:
Quarantine Summary 26/05/2009
"user@domain.com"@[Our External IP Address]
host [Our External IP Address][[Our External IP Address]] said: 550 user@domain.com... No such user (in reply to RCPT TO command)
This delivery failure email (above message) was then sent to all members of the group.
If an external email is sent to an ex-staff member that is no longer existing in the domain, what happens to the email? Who receives the delivery failure?
At this point I have no idea what to do and any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Elina
